Superradiance and Subradiance in Expanded Spatial Domains

Superradiance is essentially a case of correlated dissipation leading to the macroscopic quantum coherence, while the so-called Subradiance and its realization is more challenging than superradiance due to the need to suppress various decay channels, though it holds significant potential for quantum information applications. In this talk, I will first address the superradiance properties of plasmonic waveguides and dielectric photonic crystals, and demonstrate their potential to support near-ideal superradiance across expanded spatial domains. Then, I’ll introduce a theoretical framework that addresses the challenges of achieving subradiance in quantum systems, which reveals particularly the dynamics of single-excitation processes in complex systems, facilitating the prediction of subradiance dynamics for long-lived multipartite entanglement without the need for intricate integral computations. Finally, an outlook for exploring potential applications in fermionic systems is also briefed.

主讲人介绍:

汪子丹,香港大学物理系讲座教授,兼香港量子研究院院长和粤港澳大湾区量子科学中心香港分中心主任。曾获国家自然科学奖二等奖等多项国家和省部级科技奖励,并入选教育部长江学者讲座教授、国家自然科学基金委海外杰青等人才项目。长期从事量子物理和凝聚态物理的理论研究,在量子几何相位、量子计算、拓扑物理等前沿领域做出了一系列创新性研究成果。
